Hope for struggling learners...
- Are you or your child struggling in reading, writing, or math, but showing talent in different ways?
- Do you or your child have difficulty focusing, remembering, and/or following directions?
- Has your child been labeled Dyslexic, Learning Disabled, ADD, ADHD?
- Are you frustrated due to the lack of encouraging answers or available help in the educational system?
At Brighter Horizons Learning Center, I offer HOPE for our clients and their families. After pinpointing strengths, weaknesses, unique learning styles, and perceptual processing deficits, the child or adult can permanently build up weak areas and begin to experience a new success in both their educational career as well as in the workplace.
The learning interventions at Brighter Horizons Learning Center were compiled after spending years seeking information and receiving specialized training by some of the best researchers and developers of educational intervention. I did this to help my own homeschooled child and her unique needs. It is a non-traditional tutoring scenario – better described as brain-building, educational therapy, and accelerated learning. It is a very personalized approach, structured for each individual person, their needs, and their personal learning styles.
I prefer to begin with the Structure of Intellect (SOI) Assessment of Learning Abilities (recommended for ages 5 to adult) . It serves as a road map to facilitate any educational tutoring plan or career guidance. SOI is a diagnostic test of the 27 most critical learning abilities necessary for school or any career. Perceptual processing difficulties (involving the brain, vision and hearing) are often detected, and further pinpointing the areas that can be strengthened comes as a result of it as well. See the SOI page for more info.
Personalized tutoring (including Dyslexia tutoring methods) that reflect each individual's strengths and unique learning styles, are also done as part of a plan to build strengths (see the Dyslexia and more page).
The Irlen Method is often a huge piece of the puzzle in helping a struggling student or adult. Read more about the colorful interventions that often make a life-changing difference for many people on the Irlen page.
At-home solutions include Balametrics, a personalized SOI distance follow-up plan, and dyslexia resources..
I have been licensed, certified, and/or highly trained by each of these companies that are making such a positive difference in struggling students and adults worldwide. The results of these fine resources and personalized approaches have changed the course of my family, as well as many other students, adults, and their families.
I am so thankful to God for the opportunity to provide such rewarding services, and I am dedicated to helping students, adults, and their families succeed!
